Devil's staircase - Sri Lanka

There are numerous man-made and natural structures throughout Sri Lanka, among them "Devil's Staircases'' a significant .The Devil's Staircase, also known as "Yakage Padipela," is one of them and is the riskiest. It is located in Sri Lanka.
In Sri Lanka, there are various methods to see Devil's Staircase depending on the time of day, the route of transportation, and the level of physical fitness.The 14 km Devil's Staircase trail connects Kalupahana and Ohiya. It takes approximately eight to nine hours to climb it in a strenuous manner starting from Kalupahana and finishing in Ohiya. It is advised that only highly experienced hikers take the route because it has so many steep ascents and abrupt zig zag twists.

In a jeep, however, the greatest ways to experience the spectacular natural magnificence of the area are on a motorcycle or on foot.
The Devil's Staircase path is among the most popular hiking and jeep rides in Sri Lanka's hills. The difficulty levels and the stunning view of Sri Lanka's green mountains also made this a hiker's paradise, but only the most impassioned hikers will attempt this 13-kilometer trek.

If starting the journey from this end, hikers usually choose the Bambarakanda Rest close to Bambarakanda Ella Falls as the starting point. This trail gusts of wind through many estates on old dilapidated estate roads. This trail comes to the conclusion on the Ohiya - Horton Plains road, approximately halfway between the Ohiya Railway Station and the Horton Plain Entrance.
This trail winds through many estates on old, dilapidated estate roads, ending at Sri Lanka's highest waterfall, Babarakanda, 1km away. Don't miss out on seeing this massive waterfall, which rises to a height of 263 meters. This location is also well-known as an adventure camping site with a spectacular sunrise view.

The road at the beginning is lush, serene and well-paved since there are some small lodgings and houses spread around.

Following the 2-3km drive, they slowly drove through the V-Cut, a man-made mountain split in two.
The V-Cut was windy on one side (Bambarakanda to V-Cut), but very calm on the other from V-Cut to Udaveriya Estate.

When the tea estates were run by the British, sacks of plucked tea were sent to this location for collection via an overhead cable from the Udaveriya Estates.
People started to come across the start of the Weli Oya (River) a few meters away from the Devil's Staircase, which flows all the way down to the double bridge on the main road linking Colombo and Badulla.

If you enjoy hiking, The Devil's Staircase is definitely the most enjoyable, if not the most difficult, road hike in Sri Lanka.
Note- Only memories should have been added to your life. Enhance the photos with stunning scenery. Don't wreck the surrounding environment. Polythene and plastic should not be used to pollute the environment. Only footprints are added to the gorgeousness of the environment.
