It is a biodiversity complex and Sri Lanka’s first multi religious sanctuary receiving a new era of recognition. Ambuluwawa peak resembles a spiraling cone trigonometrically which makes it more unique and unusual. On the entrance gate there are symbols of four religions indicating the spiritual diversity and enriched biodiversity will witness at a glance from the mountain path to the tower.
Reaching the peak of Ambuluwawa one can experience breathtaking scenic views sometimes veiling in mist. This is surrounded by other mountains, Piduruthalagala from the east, Bathalagela from the west, Sripada to the south and Knuckles in the north and forests, rivers and towns giving a 360 degree view adding an eminent elegance to the sight. Sometimes it can freak out climbers at the very top for those who are fears of heights but it’s worth climbing to the highest which gives you super excitement filled with amazement. It stands at a height of 48 meters approximately and can enjoy the cool mountain breeze with the on and off mist.
As you ascend, it’s filled with blossoms of flowers, a variety of creepers and greeneries besides the gravel road enriching the biodiversity. Also many endemic species including butterflies, avian and mammalians can be seen and there are small cottages built as resting places. Mosque, Kovil, Church and the Temple in a charming garden is there opposite to the Stupa rising in a towering structure to view.
